when the gods came down to earth

Standing still except for a misted breath
While about her everything else rushes past
waving their ribbons of lights behind them.
From over the peak of a sliver topped mountain she watches
As the gods come down to earth.

Bloated with little imagos
A glowing chrysalis shunts forth and stops again.
Little green Sisyphean men walk all day not moving an inch,
And the red man remains abused as he has throughout history
While the gods come down to earth.

She can only stand in her little piece of darkness
But she can stand there for as long as she wants.
The quietest time of her noisy brain
Watching the life walk past her
and the gods come down to earth.
